**Manitoulin Island, ON** — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious motorcycle crash that occurred on November 14 in Assiginack Township, leaving one individual with significant injuries. The incident, which took place at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Cardwell Street, prompted a swift response from emergency services.

According to the OPP, the collision involved a single motorcycle, and the rider sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical personnel from Manitoulin Emergency Services were on the scene quickly and transported the injured individual to a local hospital for initial treatment. Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was later airlifted to Health Sciences North in Sudbury by Ornge Air Ambulance for further care.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit has been called in to assist with the case. The unit’s involvement is standard procedure for serious accidents to help determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the collision.
Cardwell Street was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared the area. The OPP has advised the public that the investigation is still underway, and additional details will be released as they become available.
